You Ravished my Heart

Happy Thanksgiving guys! This is the third thanksgiving post I made since starting Bliss in Lace! Isn’t that crazy. Like the last two year, I  am making a list of what I am thankful for. Hope you guys have a splendid day with your families. And, hopefully, this post will remind you of what you are thankful for.

You Ravished my Heart (17)

I am thankful for my readers, I am not the best at posting regularly, so thank you for sticking around.

I am thankful for the studyblr community; the motivation is so so uplifting.

I am thankful for the trains of opportunities that passed my way. I am grateful that I was able to jump on them and be on the journey I am on right now.

I am thankful for the people in my life. I realized that I didn’t mention this in last years’ posts. I’ve always been independent and I disregard the people around me. But I know deep down that without the smiles and open hearts around me I’d turn into nothing more than a speck of dust.

I am thankful for daily, weekly and monthly planner, they make my busy life  easier to organize.

I am thankful for the peach and pit mindset. If you haven’t heard of it, it is basically an overall look on your days. Think about the good things that happened today (that’s your juicy peach) and think about the things that didn’t go so well (that’s your pit).  You can’t buy a pitless peach because they don’t exist. Similarly, you can’t expect everyday to be good days. So reflect on what went bad. Life doesn’t go a straight line, there are so many paths. And that’s the fun of it.

I am thankful for black coffee; I don’t even need sleep anymore. ( That’s a lie, but when you set yourself scholarship essays soft deadlines… you’ll be needing as much time as you can.)

I am thankful for google drive. I don’t know what y’all are doing if you don’t use this.

I am thankful for baby powders on days I  just don’t have time for hair washing.

I am thankful (as always, and forever will) for the One who ravished my heart//  my first love. Everything You say unfolds day by day. You are the fire in my veins. Thank you.

I am thankful for… (15)

I am thankful for another morning, another day to live, to change, to become who I wasn’t yesterday and to do all those thing I want to do in life.

I am thankful for the opportunity to ride on buses and talk to strangers and realize that there are some pretty damn amazing people out there.

I am thankful for the ability to daydream.

I am thankful I’ve made efforts to take my life back, even when I wasn’t sure where to start.

I am thankful my life is a beautiful mess.

I am thankful that the world is my runway.

I am thankful for semicolons cause my story isn’t over.

I am thankful for Netflix. adgagasdgjhaldghadgja ‘nough said.

I am thankful for Youtube and Tumblr and Blogger.

I am thankful for 50% offs at thrift stores.

I am thankful for dreams that entertain me at night.

I am thankful for ripped jeans and leggings.

I am thankful Starbucks on a cold autumn morning.

I am thankful for watercolor and ball point pen inspirations.

I am thankful for neon lights.

I am thankful for Ommwriter

I am thankful for Adobe Illustrator.

I am thankful for the existence of words for I can share my thoughts and feelings to those who cares.

I am thankful for Google. I don’t know what I would do with all the awkward questions wondering in my mind without it.

I am thankful for chocolates, donuts and Skittles.

I am thankful for combat boots and converse.

I am thankful for red and mauve lipsticks.

I am thankful for roller coasters and merry-go-arounds

I am thankful for You. YOU.YOU.YOU. Because you taught me how to love, to look at life in a different perspective, to accept, to have hope, to believe, to be strong, to appreciate, to be humble, to turn my life away from the darkness and into Your light.

Thankful Hearts (16)

I’m thankful for 16 years of hella good ride on the roller coaster of life that I’m still on. To be honest I don’t ever want to get off; Every dip and climb is an unbelievable epiphany.

I’m thankful for 0.38 black pens. These bad boys are here to make my writing as elegant as possible.

I’m thankful for walks in the dark when the sun isn’t even up yet. Yes, I miss bus rides and sweet strangers but this is another totally different experience.

I’m thankful for graph papers. Clean, simple and absolutely aesthetic.

I’m thankful for cough drops there for me on mornings when I just can’t make a sound.

I’m thankful for 35mm film photography.

I’m thankful for bath bombs in the tub after a long day.

I’m thankful for the past few months of absolute horror of a reality.

I’m thankful for simple text messages letting me know I’m on people’s minds.

I plan on writing a lot and open up to other topics(not just my ramblings). It’s the little things in life that needs to be looked at. it’s the little things in life that turns out to be the most valuable. It’s the little details that makes me fall in love. It’s the most simple, most plain things that I find beauty in. So yes maybe these things I’m thankful for doesn’t seem much, they bring out the deepest feelings within me.

Self Love pt.1: The Body

Hey babes,

These days I feel like some self love is needed. ( It’s been a month  since going back to school and I am seriously lacking some decent sleep and time to care about myself) So I’ve created a 3 part series (posts) on little things you can do for yourself.

I hope y’all can enjoy spending some time on yourselves with these lists. I know I will be!

*Body scrubs are a must have for the winter time. ( I know it’s only fall but have you seen how fast time goes?!)  I 100% recommend trusty old Body Blendz, I have been using them for an year and half now and hell yeah to Australian coffee scrubs. Scrubs help you get super soft skin and leave you feeling moisturized and clean from any dead skin cells.  Get yours now! (They are always having discounts too. Your first purchase gets a 15% off)

*I  wouldn’t mind getting coconut oil as a gift. Honestly, I could pour it all over my life. Coconut oil can be used as face moisturizers, hair masks, eyelash growth help and lip scrubs. It’s a definite must-have I stock up on.

* Stole this tip from The Skinny Confidential (Thanks Lauryn!) Brush away those flaky lip skins (MAJOR EW!)  with an old toothbrush. Especially because the nude matte lips are ‘in’ right now, you don’t want to be pouting with those dry crusty lips.

* Use a bit of lip balm or petroleum jelly  for a soft highlight effect on the cheek. It will give you an effortless dewy glow that isn’t as strong as highlighters. Perfect for a no makeup makeup look don’t ya think?

* Rest, child. Sleep will forever be the number one go-to tip for self loving your body. THIS IS THE ONE I NEED MOST RIGHT NOW!

* If you stand in front of the mirror and can’t stop seeing “flaws” and feeling like you are ugly then go back to bed, you are obviously lacking some rest.

* spend some time as a cardio bunny. Life can be busy and most of us students are sitting all day long.. A bit of exercise can help you sweat your stress out.

*Adding onto the last one, I’ve been starting a push up challenge where I up the amount of push ups I do each day. The soreness of my arms makes me feel empowered for some reason, it makes me feel strong. Be strong today and start the push up challenge with me. I started at 20 push-ups and each day 3 more are added. Find your own pace and join me.

* Yeah I know… some of us love junk foods but… our bodies doesn’t. Take a week off from junk food every single month. Your body will appreciate it.

Let me know in the comments below other ways you give your body some love 🙂

How to get free stuff (the legal way)

Back again posting on a lovely Tuesday (okay fine, it’s actually kind of cold and windy). But… I’ve got exciting news! My second social nature package came in a few days ago and I can’t wait to introduce you to this super lovely company.

This post isn’t sponsored, I just really like the company and… sharing is caring? 🙂 Also, this isn’t an unboxing post as I won’t be talking about the content of the package but if the product turn out to be amazing; I will not hide it from you guys.

So. Social Nature is “a product sampling community that helps you #trynatural”. It features multiple green and organic products ranging from eco-friendly cleaning products to organic foods. The website allows you to try products for FREE and by the power of social media the goal is to influence people to try greener products.

So, go ahead social-natureand sign yourselves up. You can thank me later.

Think I am done?   not even close.

Another website I adore and have been on way before Social Nature is… Sample Source

This isn’t sponsored either.

Like social nature, sample source cadssafhagaggaapture allows you to try products before you buy. The differences between the two is that Social Nature lets you pick a few products but you might not be chosen to try them whereas sample source lets you do a short survey and allow you to try several products at once. Social Nature have new products out frequently. Sample Source happens 3 times a year (Spring, Summer and Fall) . They don’t send them in the Winter time because products freeze.  Also, Sample Source products aren’t organic but they are products you may have seen in the mall that you don’t usually buy.

Now I am really done. Hope y’all have as much fun trying out free products as I do.

I’m Better Off

I’m better off without the negativity I’ve learned to pretend to love; better off not romanticizing pain and sadness. My life is so bright now that in the mornings I feel the warmth from droplets of the golden sun and every night I would see stars twinkle and sparkle endearingly . Maybe, this is an important point in life where I receive a magic touch of bliss.

Better off not overthinking/Better off without a frown/ Better off not whining and daydreaming out of desperation/ Better off without the uncomfortable thoughts /

My 7 Deadly Sins

foodies' appendix (1)

“The future is meant for those who are willing to let go of the worst parts of the past. When you cannot take two steps without turning around to inspect your footsteps, you are getting nowhere fast.”

― Corey Taylor, Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good

It’s nice to be back again. Today let’s talk about sin. Heavy topic I know but I am keeping it light with sprinkles of sugar dust and nothing else so don’t worry, I won’t be shoving big clichéd inspirational speech down your throats.

We are all sinners and although we don’t like to admit it, we know it deep inside our peachy cores. But, how great would it be if everyone of our sins are… Nice?

My point is if all of us focused on our “nice” ( by nice, I really mean tolerable) sins and stayed away from the terrible ugly ones we would be incluned to sin less, no?

So, to better living and being closer to life without sins, below are MY 7 not-so deadly sins.

Horizons (3)
minimalistic aesthetics, home wares, coffee shops, future plans, Muji stationary, art museums

unneeded hate, racists, hurtful teasing ( well I guess it doesn’t count as teasing anymore when it hurts does it?)

people with cute cats
Independent and rebellious (please don’t boss me around. HEY! At least I said please)
chocolate, donuts, cinnamon buns, honey lavender lattes
big boo to house chores (especially when you have a family of six…)

more sleep, more plants, more black pens, more notebooks, more love

So now, what are yours?

“I can’t live somewhere without trees, something crucial in me will starve.”

I’ve always liked to go into little forests where there’s no man-made paths but just dirt, tree branches and leaves. My parents liked the “artificial” ones better as it is cleaner and easier to walk in.

I remember how I used to walk until I get lost while talking to myself but would always be forced to cut my daydreaming time short with my parents around trying to engage me in conversations. I’m not a closed off person at all but I do like making scenarios in my head and making up lines for myself and the person I imagined myself to be talking to… But I am sure you all do that.. right?

This summer had been the first time I spent so much time appreciating and loving trees and branches. It was a good way for me to reflect and clean out tumultuous thoughts and feelings. Being in sync with nature releases my endorphin and triggers happiness even if it’s only temporary.

There’s just something about the way the light peeks through the leaves and the way the tall trees stands protectively and around. I can finally let out the breath I’ve been holding in.

Discovering innocence and beauty in forests made me realized that travelling and adventures don’t always have to be miles away from where you are. It could simply be just a couple of blocks down the road in that little forest you’ve always thought to be boring. It could even be the best adventure you’ve ever been on. I want to feel like this everyday. I want to see the brilliance in little things. I want to enjoy life frame by frame. I want to never stop pushing myself to be better. Because this summer was the first time I saw myself being alone. And it really is true that you don’t know yourself until you’ve spent time alone with yourself. So go out and find your own little forest, name it Sanctuary, be alone and be alright.

I build ladders

to stand on and to climb

to balance on one of the legs

and to spin and spin.

the leaps I take to surprise, to captivate

and to feel alive,

They are concatenated with the flips that make me experience the extremes, the swings that make me feel like I’ve grown a pair of wings, the jumps that make me feel higher than my optimal and the the twirls that make me feel down to earth.

Sway with me darling. the view is tremendous up here.I  wonder if my future would be full of dynamics.

Busy busy,  that’s what I want.

shhhh stop talking for  a little while.

let me keep dreaming and keep laughing

hope and promise ignite with every single ladder made
